Tata 2004 Hello 2005
in a blink of the eye, 12 months have passed us by. for me personally, 2004 has been a whirlwind. it's a pity to usher in the new year with the recent tragedy. hope all is well for the victims. noticing a picture from yesterday's berita harian of dead corpses floating alongside debris in the water is just heart wrenching. you have to squint your eyes to detect which are dead bodies or debris for everything in the picture looks the same. the act of mediacorp not showing the nation's countdown live is a good gesture. why should you be stripping to your bare essentials, play with foam & counting down from 10 to 0 when there are people who are struggling with life from the tragedy. you can always countdown in your sleep too anyways.
well, frankly, 2004 has made me many new friends. interesting people with colourful characters to those who are just one time conversationalist. it's only human to make mistakes here & there throughout the year but what is done, is done. indeed friends come and go and it surely showed this year. coming of age this year is kind of sad knowing i'm not a kid anymore. but age do catches up with you right?
so, highlights of my 2004 has got to be......(in no order whatsoever)
1. going to some interview for a tv programme with 2 of my koolest friends.
2. placing 1st in my school's soccer competition with the lepak kids.
3. trying out a tee shirt venture with retromamat.
4. trip to KL.
5. hari raya riot with the poly kids in a cramped van.
6. zahri saying 'HI' when i introduced him to juni.
7. karaoke sessions which are full of offkey singing.
8. nasser running around town like a madman. (berpeloh tu budak dibuatnyer)
9. knowing that retail therapy does help me in a way.
10. discovering that i can't live without the tunes of the smiths, the strokes, serenaide etc.
11. raihan driving me around macam mana peh dato' bandar to places.
12. buying a dirt cheap blazer.
13. me going to school with tattered jeans matched with capals?
14. prawn fishing saturdays with the school kids.
15. me getting beaten up by the kids during my birthday.
16. the infamous nasser videoclips.
17. laughing hard to phey's constant ramblings online. (mana peh Iron Fist je.)
18. retro shades my uncle gave me which surprisingly has the perfect degree.
19. being exposed to Amuk's Biskot Rendam Kopi O song which was hilarious.
20. knowing a certain cherubic person from marsiling & maria AKA kak su & nina.
well, there are many more happenings but i'll spare you people the boredom. i hope your 2004 has been a fruitful one. may god bless you. good luck for 2005. 1st thing of 2005 to look
forward to for me is.....tengok bola kat national stadium this sunday beb!!! orait ciao.

itz hang nasserz aka badang CPU aka expensive-zara-tote-bag-owner aka budak-kancheong-spider-lari-kat-town-sebab-wallet-hilang bday today & well homie, u got ur wish of having ur pic beside ur 5 yr old bride in holy matrimony. hahahaha!!! herez to many more lepak memories wif the dude who once i thought was the shy quiet type way back in year 1. boy was i wrong....hahaha!!! cheerz mate! so, hapi bday to the kid who frequents the gym nowadays & the onli kid i know whose willing to buy my ancient heavy cd player for $30. khekhekhe....

The Sakai Gongz & The Chalet Melele
bobz chalet was ok. thank god for the PS2 he brought along & all the kidz had a laugh playing winning 11 & burnout. sum car madness crashing racing game. the usual menu of fried chicken wingz & hotdogs was fine wif me. plus therez bandung which was klasik....oh yeah, met my long time no see fren, juni, at kembangan stesen while waiting for hadi the driver to arrive. shez grown taller it simz & still haf the mak bedah attitude. hohoho....& i personally ate a lot of mak hadiz klasik mashed potatoes. wif no fork & spoons, we dudez had to eat the tribal way....using our hands....oh well.
nasser the entertainer arrived at 9pm & we videocam-ed him as a wrestler & itz onli for the eyes of the kidz. apparently we had to wait for retrokidz hijacked slippers to return from one of bobz adik peh kawan while wanting to head home. so yeah, not many pix were taken but dat'll will do ryte? gud mawning to ya...

3am seems like the standard time i'd wake up evriday to scratch scratch & scratch. the mosquitoes by then i'll bet would haf had a large dose of my blood. the most irritating spot to scratch would be on the webbings of my feet. damn datz so blardy irritating. sumtimes i could even hear the buzzing sound of the mosquitoes in my ear & i'll stoopidly slap it. in which case, i'll end up slapping my ear real hard & ending up having a swollen ear wen i wake up in the mawnin.
skulz been a bore as usual. wif the standard dosage of the FYP stress, goin home straight seems to be the norm for me. home seems like a haven nowadays. if i were an outsider & were to come by my house, i'd imagine how a person could survive a day at my home. the onli form of relaxation i haf is the computer. seriously i dun play games anymore. teevee? a cute one in the hall. i thought i'd juz modified my PS2 yesterday which i bought 2 years ago but as i did sum serious thinking, that money shuld juz be saved. saved for the next KL trip dat is. so, i'm way outdated wen it comes to games. talk to me bout music & fashion & u'll haf urself a whole train ride wif a dude who can't stop yapping bout that topic.

another day spent at sim lim wif the kidz yesterday juz so boss besar nasser wanted to buy a new CPU for his defunct comp at home. wif all the new processors, RAM & wateva thatz installed in the CPU, i'll bet itz worth his money. still had the time to shop at the usual thrift store after a meal of murtabakz shared among the kiddoz. funi how the boss fell in love wif this probably 6 yr old gerl who sat in front of us at the eating place. ok ok, the girl i admit would definitely grow up pretty. so yeah, the boss is hoping that the girl will wait for 'abang'. wen hez like 28, the gerl would be like 14yrs old? HAHAHAHA........yeah dude, wait for her aight. kekeke. ok ok, age doesn't matter ryte? ryte.....so yeah, nothing much to say 2day. go take a look at the album below & it juz happened that most of the pix have the boss in it. so itz a mini tribute to the guy who blanja-ed people but asked for $1 as back-up.

to those of you who reads berita harian, i had a an eye-opener reading an article on page 5 of todayz edition. this 5 yr old boy had a grand ceremony which was only fitting for a king which in this case, not in terms of royalty. this kid was goin to be, get this, circumcised, yes circumcised & his parentz splurged around $2000 for their kidz 'big' day. in realiti now, that boy is 'small', not 'big' yet. so the ceremony had silat acts, a 'pelamin' and thank god therez no DJ playing hindustani music. wat a lucky kid. shows how much parenz would go to great lengths even for a historical moment for their kid. which reminds me, when my 'big day' was held at an ulu clinic in clementi way bek in i 4got wen, the onli person who attended was my mom. in which after the 'operation', me & my mom went jalan-jalan at clementi's back then PISCES shopping centre where i was still walking trying to kip a straight face & wearing my dadz kain pelekat brand GAJAH DUDUK. 1 2 3 wo wo wobble~~~

reached skul at 8.10am & was released at 8.35....wat is the meaning of this. waking up early in the mawnin freezing & the feeling of vomitting evritime i cough is such a drag. well, kol it the 1st week of skul, itz slacked & i wanna sleep now. sori to the dudes of my projek grup 4 i did not have strength to go down sim lim to search for electrical components later in the day. hope the melted panadols i've been consuming can do wonders to my terrible fever. so long peepz.

KL Power Walkers & The Makan Makan Crusade
i'm having a terrible fever ryte now. skipped skul 2day for the schedulez quite hectic. anyways, i'm back from KL & boy oh boy the weather & traffic there is insane. mebi itz due to walking in the rain dat i'm having a fever ryte now. so, we 4 spore kidz had a ball of a time eating watevaz not available in s'pore. A&W, Kenny Rogers, Breadtalk but unfortunately, we didn't find Old Chang Kee. now i no why breadtalkz floss buns are the ish. blardy sedap i tell ya. the food frenzy ain't gonna fade off until we tasted Old Chang Kee & Viking hotdogs.
we reached KL at 6am & trus headed off for some roti canai at Maulana. walked around Bukit Bintang in the wee hours wif our backpacks. as we started to pose in front of Guess's window display, the security guard there had a nice way to warn us. he said
Guard: Oi, buat aper disana?
Us: Nak amik gambar ah.
Guard: Ah bleh, nak amik gambar bleh tapi cermin jangan kasik pecah.
we were like HAHAHAHA.....apa siak dia ni....after taking pix at bukit bintang, we hijacked into an unknown hotel juz so bcos retromamat nak lepaskan saham.
we lepak-ed at the hotel lobby for like 2 hours juz bcos the rooms weren't available. took stoopid shotz juz to kill time as u can see in the photo album. upon reaching the room, 2 kidz were jumping around & were like wriggling in bed. hahaha...sebijik macam budak kindergarten. retromamat was kicked out of bed & rid wrestled wif him on the 2nd nyte. for your info, no undesirable acts happened in the room orait. well, the 1st day was roaming around petaling strit which was exactly like bugis strit. mat & minah paradise as i kol it. as usual, the VCD peddlers were aiming kidz like us to sell porn VCDs. hahahaha.... da way dey approached us is too lewd to mention here. kakaka....
as so, we did a lotta walking. itz unfortunate we didn't get to visit the skybridge cos itz usually fullhouse at this time of month. da kidz were pretty bumped though. we did walked around the dataran merdeka area & itz such a nice place. visited masjid india to buy my mum a brooch & my my my, datz makcik paradise hands down. konfirm tak baliknyer if my mum happens to go there. kain peh banyak. naik pening tengok. oh yeah, i juz hafta mention bout the roadside geraiz. itz so punk rock to me dat dey're selling nasi padang juz BESIDE roads ya no. & pple do actually buy em. i'll bet it tastes nice tanx to the smoke emitted from vehicles. 1 stall i see sold klasik looking ayam masak merah but i had qualms eating em. nex trip i wanna try those roadside geraiz.
well, i tink i'll stop here peepz. wif my fever still not subsiding, my mindz kinda blocked to write much more. so i let the pix to the talking. haf fun looking at them.

blardy money changer. keje nak senang je. asking extra money so that conversion would be much easier. kalau orang nak tukar $100, den dahlah! nak mintak lagik $10 buat aper! ticks me off easily man. but hey, atleast today starbucks was giving away free drinks from 5pm-7pm juz now & datz sumthin to smile about. got a cup of rhumba frappucino which was damn klasik. i wasn't sure bout starbucks's menu of drinks so i juz followed wat retrokid ordered. now, waiting for the moment burger king would be giving away free mushroom swiss begers. fat chance to think bout it.
anyhowz, while goin to lot 1 to exchange money, this donation gerl went up to me & said 'Hi, saya jual kupon amal ni. $2 saje. bleh lah u & ur fren share duit $1 sorang....'
me: erm takpelah.
donation gerl: alah, rambot dah lawa takkan tak mampu nak derma.
me: memang tak mampu ah. (sarcastically)
donation gerl: eh suka hatilah~~~(turns around as if shez on the model runway)
as she walked away, retromamat mentioned wat a nice compliment dat was bout the hair part. but seriously, i don't trust that compliment for i personally dun take compliments kindly. furthermore compliments from complete strangers are reali weird. plus a couple in the MRT juz now was looking & smirking at me & retromamat. god i hate those attention. makes u wonder wat dey're talking about. retromamat looks at the optimistic side of things wen it comes to pple lookin at u but i'm the complete opposite. mebi it juz boils down to insecurity huh. but if itz a compliment from sum1 i've known for a long time, i no that compliment is genuine.
well, 2moloz KL ago-go escapade wif 3 other dudes. dun think my mind will be free since i'm worried bout the FYP situation. gonna be back by sunday night & hope dat it'll be a klasik trip. finally sumthin to escape from the stress & failure. hope the other 2 kidz in my grup are doin fine & hope dey wun be so stressed. easy to say but hoping for the best seems the onli option we haf ryte now. in KL, i'm gonna bring the dudes to the connecting bridge of the petronas towers where me & nasser went during the previous trip where the view is nice from up there. plus it'll be retail therapy for me with this trip.
oh yeah, did i mention i was super lame 2day? yearp, i tink i made a bad 1st impression. oh well, datz juz me. ever the sucky dude. see ya peepz on monday den.

Kopi Hijack & The Karaoke Ago-gos
pital entertained us in the comp lab wif his many stories bout his sec skul dayz & his take on the horror movie 'shutter'. loads of lafter in the lab which i think might disturb other semangat giler budak budak buat computer aided design. oh heck, atlist the atmosphere wasn't a boring one.
upon reaching the ground floor, nasser hijacked a cup of kopi which was meant for the peepz who attended some seminar thingy in skul. met up wif retromamat & ford & soon we all made a way to a place. a stress relieving place. minus ford & hadi, pital, manager, ago-go mamat, brownie pants boi & warner bros dude made the journey to clementi where we went.....
karaoke. kakakaka.....tanx to brownie pants karaoke voucher, it simz the 5 of us were up 4 it. kol it a case of being too stressed wif FYP, goin singin & making a clown out of ourselves simz like a good idea. seriously it was such a stress reliever. doesn't matter if we sounded like frogs or for some, sang some songs perfectly, we had a ball of a time. brownie pants was alwiz the entertainer & itz a fact, The Temptations's 'My Girl' has got to be the 'motivation song' for us. it'll get us up & about u see. me & retrodude were possessed when The Beatles's 'I Saw Her Standing There' came up. but the klasik part has got to be the moment the bill came. everyone went silent upon seeing the tab. hahahaha...nyanyi puas puas abeh trus senyap. well, the pix taken weren't dat clear but u'll get the idea...nyte nyte.

YEEESSSAAAA!!!!! POOOWWWEEERRRR!!!!!! KLLLAAASSSIIIKKKK!!!!
thank god dat taufik dude won the competition. his rendition of 'me & mrs jones' is truely a klasik i tell ya. 3 million votes & costing $0.50 each, u do the math. such a big event & for an average joe leading an ordinary life, he did won s'pore over. i'm sure singaporeans will be proud of him.
watched the entire show wif my parenz & my dad got his choice ryte from the start wif taufik. wen the winner was announced, me & my parenz clapped our hands & my ibu was goin 'yes yes yes!'....hahaha....funi how i myself was nervous wen the winner was yet to be announced. imagine being in the shoes of the 2 finalist. i'll bet itz more nerve wrecking den having to undergo the 'behind closed doors' test during the NS medical checkup.
anyways, dat taufik will sure have an album & my my my, da future seems bright for him. heck, hez got 5 brides waiting for him if the album thingy doesn't werk out. lucky dude lucky dude. i didn't vote 10 times, 100 times or even 17899 times but but but.....3 times beb!!! 3 times u no 3 times!!! $1.50 isn't much of a deal ryte? but hey, support mau ada kan? kakaka. anyways, klasik singapore idol. congrats to that dude.
