Daily 8 Hour Taukes & The $2 Fortune Cookies

This week and the previous one has been mad capped & truly challenging. Running a small business even in a bazaar takes a lot of effort and time and not forgetting, your patience is tested to the limits. Every single day we'll be heading home at 7.30pm after checking thru the dayz sales & doing all the necessary financial calculations...in all honesty, me & the other 2 guys now know better that business is such a tough field to play around. if u wanna make loads of profits, easy...juz open up a burger Ramly stall. Seriously. Our neighbour stall selling that burger easily sells 300 burgers a day. Wif each burger selling at $2.50, u do the math.
Went to our neighbours across the causeway last week to stock up on the stuffs for the bazaar. Come to think bout it, we guys went there straight after our mid year exams. With time not in our favour, we had no choice but to go at that period. We kidz are pure junk foodies and we'll consume the nearest burger Ramly & dine in A&W...why are there no more A&W chains in spore now...their root beer drinks are still selling in supermarkets...hmm...anyways, the trip there during the weekend was fun but we totally forgot if we had to pay taxes for the huge bundle we brought along wif us on the way back to spore. Fortunately the customs let us thru wifout any fuss. Oh yeah, we learned some Malaysian street lingo there. Such as "Goyah" and "Ko-es". tanx to the bald brudder selling delicious burgers which we usually frequent whenever we are around town.

With our humble stall finally closed today, a sense of relief surrounds me for itz been taxing personally. Yes, frustration did seeped into me throughout the week but I onli share those negative thoughts wif the other bizniz dudes I trust for onli they know how it feelz as we are in the same situation together. Well, looking at the trend of business, it seems girls are more willing to spend. Usually the guys would juz pass by our stall whereas the gerls would stop & take a look & in some instances, they would buy a packet of cookies, shades & even a tee for their boyfriends. But but but, their bargaining skills are second to none. Dat kind of skill will come in handy in the future when they bargain fish prices during Sunday shopping at the wet market. For sure, the customer always wins.

To wrap things up, thanx to the people who even bothered to read about our stallz existence on friendsterz bulletin board, the customers, our co-stall partners fara & su, the set up/closing crew, the gerls who helped out by passing some of their stuffs to us, the tangkap hensem kidz at the stall, the cynics, the achi who helped us to load/unload all the stuffs at the end of the week and drove us back home and not forgetting mat rooney & pink fred perry dude. Heh. btw, zahri's homemade cookies are truely famous amos like i tell you. no kidding. bet BJ Kadir would give 5 and a half O's upon 5.
and what's the worst you take
from every heart you break
and like the blade you stain
well i've been holding on tonight
what's the worst that i can say?
things are better if i stay
so long and goodnight
so long not goodnight

Public Service Announcement

Greetings! As some Singapore Poly students may know, the school is having the Honours United Bazaar during the 21st-25th February at the plaza (near the convention center). The Vintage Junkees kids have a booth for the bazaar & they hope you would come down & check out the stuffs on sale! Currently on the list are vintage tees, vintage sweaters, blazers & shades. More stuff will be added on the day.
The stuffs are between $5-$30.
Oh yeah, not forgetting some girls clothes too. All the things on sale are of limited quantity and are really affordable. If you happen to be around the neighborhood, please give SP a visit and come down to our booth between 10am-5pm. Come early to avoid disappointment and we'll see you there!
Regards,
Vintage Junkees

Stumbled Upon This One

took this from my former klasmates friendster pic gallery featuring the sec 5 kidz who broke fast together at town last year. the time when the boys hated/fought/tak geng the gerls up till sec 2. it was onli when the yellow science textbook especially chapter 13 was taught, the guys started to haf interest towards the other party. students studying that book way back in 97, 98, 99 shuld know wat that chapter taught. anyways, those times back in sec skool are a klasik. hope evritingz well for them.

Weekend Happy Hours

Fun filled escapade at the esplanade throughout the weekend. Thank god for han's digicam or else we kidz are gonna end up with crappy blurry pix courtesy of my digicam.
Day 1
The Marilyns have klasik humour stage performance tanx to the singer. As we malays say it, the singerz attitude was "selamba". The moment the singer handed out "CD's" to the crowd, everyone was excited to get a copy of it. He went down to the audience & started handing those out. Ah Chong was like super hyped to get the CD & watz next was hilarious.
Aza Marilyns: (shouting) Ah cd free cd free!
Ah Chong: Bang bang, sini bang! Sini!
Aza Marilyns: (still looking around)
Ah Chong: Mintak ampun bang mintak ampun...(obviously to stand out over the number of hands stretching out for the CD)
Aza Marilyns: (Passes the CD to him to the delight of Chong)
Ah Chong did get the "CD" though but the content was EMPTY. It was juz their album cover sleeve on a jewel cd case wif nothing in it. I was laughing away at the way Chong pleaded for mercy as if he did the ultimate crime or sumthin but in the end all he got was an empty casing. Ampun bang ampun~~~ but itz all ok. We find it all in good fun.

Mocca
So, Mocca turned up on stage at 8.45pm to much fanfare & that lead singer of theirs is oh so cute. Oh well...u HAVE to listen to My Only One & u'll be clapping away. For sure. The band mesmerized the audience all the way to 9.30pm. the 2nd day was much more fun. Before we went home, Remy & Mimi weren't spared as we "serbu" them after the gig.

Remy kool-rilek-chill dude & the 4 serbuans.

Mimi & the old teens.
& yeah, band from batam called The Jipangs made a brief appearance. Onli 1 fan was enthusiastic enuf to take their pic. Oh well.

The Jipangs

The real deal
Day 2
Serenaide was 1st on the bill & as always, never fail to entertain. Usual bop bops seen among the audience. Alwiz a joy to seem them play live especially Cameo Appearance, Midnite & Girl From Katong. I noticed this particular kid is alwiz the 1st to reach the stage wen it comes to freebie giveaways. Wen he's on stage, he has this paiseh-paiseh-aiyah-just-gif-me-the-freebie-lah look. Tersengeh sengeh giler. I'm sitting down & smiling away. Funi kid. Even Phey recognized that dude from previous gigs. Heh.

Serenaide
Mocca played 2 sets on Saturday & boy were we entertained. Their live sets are extremely good & they interact wif the crowd brilliantly. Kudos to the kid who went up on stage to dance wif Arina during Swing It Bob. Such bravery to dance anyhow he likes at the expense of the laughter of other people. It was hilarious. At the end of the gig, the kidz attacked Phey for pix. That dude thought he saw ronaldinho wen all the while it was mariaz frenz bf who has curly hair juz like that brazilian. Phey started muttering wat he deemed 'brazilian words' wen all the while hez babbling outer space languages. Heh. That dude is alwiz fun to talk to.

Phey & us. (he can pass off as a teen also ryte?)
Day 3
Mocca's acoustic setting chilled the atmosphere. Very laid back. Truly inspiring to see a band playing live music equally klasik in an acoustic setting as well as a non-acoustic one. I'm just in awe of them. I wonder how Arina's diction is so mat-salleh like. I'll bet if u listen to their songs on radio, u'll think ur listenin to an American band. After the gig, who in the world would ignore the opportunity to get autographs from em & even shake hands.

Well, me & my frenz did haf a lotta fun over the weekends & a lotta wobble incidents happened but I'll juz spare my frenz the embarrassment. Heh. Another klasik memory for the scrapbook. So yeah, cek out the photo links below. Adios.
