When The Future Seems To Draw Near

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

maybe it's just a weird thought. maybe just maybe i wanna fall back on teaching. can't really let 2 yrs of NS go by without thinking what to do next. but i can't possibly see myself as a math or science teacher. oh no. a language teacher might do. as we grow up, there are certainly more decisions to make and more responsibilities to uphold. in which, it's better to start thinking what is best for the future.
and jeng jeng jeng, the horrendous photos of field camp are finally here. it's not really eye candy but oh well...

having to walk the remaining 9km of the 16km route march with a huge blister bubble on the balls of both feet is certainly an experience. an alarmingly painful experience. it felt like eternity to reach back to camp. now i'm limping with every step. 1 of the hardships ever since i stepped into Tekong.

i find it weird why weddings at the void deck must have a karaoke section. Makciks with endless gold bracelets and heavy gold chains resembling Mr T belt out a song or two while the guests are eating at the reception. call it entertainment but i have yet to see people clap after each "performance". worse, if the whole wedding atmosphere is filled with hindustani songs. the reason i'm touching about this is because there's a wedding taking place at the pavilion next to my block. the exact scenario i mentioned above happened.

well, 8 more days to the end of BMT and finally growing back some hair is finally a reality. when the kids in the platoon saw my pic in the licence card, all kinds of hokkien curse words spurted out. being botak & used to keeping long hair makes a whole lot of difference and that is why some of the kids swear i have a twin. erm...ok.

The Raya Grenade

keeping a live grenade in your SBO pouch while waiting for your turn to throw is really a "keep-your-cool" challenge. all the while my mind was filled with "what if's"...what if i tripped and fell and the grenade would ignite. what if i had slipped the grenade in my grasp at the last minute before throwing. such negative thoughts are normal. when i finally did throw that grenade, i was dissapointed with the outcome. i expected some mega fire outburst that could wipe away some tank or something. the explosion sounded like some homemade hari raya firecracker at kampungs. heard it all before each year when i celebrate hari raya back in Muar.
