201

As 2008 draws to a close, it's pretty normal for us to reflect on our lives and the things happening around us. Pretty scary thought that the days sort of whizz by ever so quickly now. A sign of the times perhaps? I certainly enjoyed this year considering the amount of gigs i went to and seeing the happiness spread among my loved ones. The ma'am got to travel, the IPPT gold boy (supposedly) seems happy these days with his cool madame, rockstar macam paham securing a job in a short space of time, andy lau starting school etc. Sometimes it's other people's happiness that makes you happy. It's infectious i tell you. If not, then i suppose you're just one jealous red eyed monster. All in all i hope you guys have a nice new year's eve and good luck hustling at Esplanade if you plan to catch the fireworks display there. The ma'am and me along with the boys, miss guevara and miss vespa baru will be cosying up someplace else tonight. Obscure location's are in. Have fun wherever the rest of you might be. Till then, happy new year people.

Oh Well

Mental preparations of noise ringing in the earlobes after the gig. Mogwai have got to play The Sun Smells Too Loud and Batcat. They just have to.

Half In Love With Elizabeth would be a sin to be left out of their songlist. Although a closet wish of mine to see them play Aztec Camera's version of Somewhere In My Heart. 80's cover songs are the bomb.

Heimdalsgate Like A Promethean Curse. Period.

Melanie Pain's curtsy vocals will definitely make roti perancis tastes a bit better after the gig i'm sure. Sweet and tender hooligan all over again pretty pretty please.

In other matters, i had a haircut just now after work at my usual neighbourhood barbershop. As my head feels heavy when my hair grows thick and long and frequent headaches occur almost immediately. What seemed to be a routine shaved haircut turns out to be a trainwreck. Let's say from now on i've to purchase a sharp ended comb, blonde hairdye, $10 hoodies/cardigans with gazillion neon stars on it, white skinny jeans and pointed shoes. Instant "mat" street cred thanks to the barber pakcik who cut the back of my hair in a V shape. His awe in his amazing work on my head was further explained by him saying,

"Ah kan lawa belakang V. Ni lah pesen (fashion) sekarang."

Of which in my moment of horror and helpless reaction, he went on to ask the following,

"Anak dah berapa? 3? 4?"

Wow thanks pakcik. Now i'm a mat with a fictional brood of kids. My future seems bright don't you think?

Banzai

Planned on waiting until today to update this space with scanned gig tickets for next year but backtracked on the idea. Acquired Mogwai (row B17 & B18 bebeh!), Mystery Jets, Of Montreal and Melanie Pain gigs and all happening during the first quarter of next year. 2009 already looks so good. And.....
