Future, Batcats, Kaisers
I just came back from Malacca with...the ma'ams family. With 13 others consisting of cousins, uncles, aunties and her mum's colleagues to Ayer Panas Gadek. Pretty nerve-wracking considering how i would be judged by my actions or any other point of views, if any. But i suppose having her by my side most of the time kept me calm. The hot springs was like a scene from a Japan Hour segment featuring various hot spring spots minus the waterfall and mountainous sceneries. But the really cool thing was the food and drinks gerai situated right beside the pool. It's like you can just come out off the pool and order a burger ramly special. Doesn't get any convenient than that. After that the journey continued to every makcik's kain langsir/baju kurung paradise called Nilai 3. We were like a bunch of pre-pubescent teens squealing at the sight of Spongebob Squarepants home slippers sold there and actually buying the same pair together. We're still young like that. But honestly the fabrics are relatively cheap and i bought 4 "tudung ekin" for my mum. Apparently that's the trend nowadays for the muslimahs. As any other girl, the ma'am couldn't resist buying a bracelet and earrings display set for quite a steal and the glow on her face after that was one of satisfaction. All in all and controversial seafood eateries after, the trip was fine and hey, atleast it's a step forward towards progress right?
Last Friday too saw the live sonic bangs of Mogwai at the Esplanade. Could do with more crowd interaction but post rock wouldn't require much talking anyways eh. The last 27 seconds of Batcat towards the end of the gig felt like your heart being beaten into a pulp. In a good way. Ears rang continously but we were all smiles. After gigs satay at Lau Pa Sat seems like a tradition for me & the ma'am. Food and music equals love.
3 months from now, 9 kids will be at Fort Canning with the chiefs. With the guys around, we'll wipe out any bratty kids trying to force their way to the front row. Sharpen your elbows people.

Ambush
Last night's ploy to kidnap the belated birthday boy was a success. Army styled briefings and trial runs of said kidnapping procedures were executed with precision. Thank god he was wearing boxers or else the kidnap plan would turn awry beneath all the commotion. Pictures coming up soon and we were screened by the police at the end of the night. We're pretty badass that way.

Mystery Jets came over with their retrofitting sequinned tops and belted out all the songs from their album. Their DJ set soon after proved to be a health checkup considering the knees can't groove that well now to the music and needed supplements of egg prata and mee hoon goreng at the nearby kedai mama.

Grunge Slippers

This acrobatic kid turns 24 today. With such determination and strength hanging on a pole horizontally, no wonder he's an IPPT gold standard. Atleast that was what he told me his standard was. Oh well. It's his birthday so i'll just believe him then.

Midnight
8 kids cooped up in room 201 during new year's day can only mean one thing, fun. A last minute surprise me & the ma'am did for the other kids to come over to the awesomely funky New Majestic Hotel to usher in the new year together. Homemade chocolate fondue was a free for all accompanied by delicious choice dippings of bananas, strawberries and marshmallows. Of which the army rationed butter flavoured biscuits weren't that popular. Reasons all too familiar among us guys. Pictures below best describes the whole night in chronological order.

The superb hospitality that won me over. Personalised greeting card for both of us. Not forgetting the sponge cake is soooooo sedap. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone in a heartbeat.

Bose speakers for plugging in your Ipod and complimentary internet access. Macbook Pro not included.

Simple props for the night. Choose your fancy of being Mao Zedong, Picasso or Lightspeed Champion.

Kiehl's toiletries. Enough said.

Miss Blythe watching over the munchies corner and ready to laser anyone who wastes food.

This is what happen when M83 is playing in the background at the stroke of midnight with only 3 people in the room while waiting for the others to arrive 5 minutes later and jumping around like monkeys while air drumming to Don't Save Us From The Flames.

Ayob proves he's no amateur magician. He can create fireworks at Esplanade without being there. I'm sure he'll hold his own magic show at some community centre coinciding with some mass line dancing event.

The rest of the gang finally arrived approximately 5 minutes after midnight. Everyone was quickly pulled in to join the jumpathon and while the fireworks on tv were still blasting.

Faezah came in later and was shocked by the loud greetings. The drapes behind the door helped to suspense her entrance.

Camera flashing time.

After a hard day's work, nothing beats the feeling of scratching your ass.

Muz tried hard to look like a hybrid between a clown and sigur ros. He did a good job at that.

Spongebob monopoly proved to be a short spanned game. Who wants to think of strategies and money when it's a new year right?

The moment when everyone unleashed the picasso in them. Those pictures drawn that night could fetch a hefty sum at Sotheby's i'm sure. Drawings that are similar to cave-like carvings should be given a special mention.

Say hello to the new drama/movie logos of Bawang Putih Bawang Merah, The Simpsons, Seniman Bujang Lapok. Muz guessed the last one right when the others were stressing what the stickmens were. 3 stickmen = Bujang Lapok? He's on his way to be a psychiatrist already.

The girls of the night auditioning for the prize segment of The Price Is Right. Faezah seems happy in her imaginary water filled bathtub.

I've a penchant to shove the guys whenever we have our pictures taken. It's some sort of obsessive compulsive disorder.

The kids of the night. Last group picture in the room before heading down to the equally pretty lobby.

The Brady Bunch spinoff cast of 2009. Needs some tweaking since some cast members tried to look away from the camera thinking they were part of Survivor Gabon.

The IT couple. With special appearance from Faezah.

Andy Lau's latest product endorsement comes from Kinder Bueno. He's pimping out the ultra limited watch collaboration between Seiko and Kinder Bueno. Keep the watch in a cool area or else it'll melt.

Me and the ma'am would like to give a massive shoutout to the kids who came over. Hope everyone had fun. Oh, prepare for something even bigger, glamourous and more sweet inducing treats exactly 9 months from now. Everyone will have their 15 minutes of fame. You've been warned. Below is a link to the hotel's website. You'll enjoy your stay. Trust us.
